The Parish Hall at Ravenglass dates from 1878, according to Bulmer’s History and Directory of Cumberland 1901, the ‘Public Hall built in the Swiss style, was erected at the sole expense of Lord Muncaster, and used during the week as an infants school and on Sunday evenings, used for religious purposes’.
During the Second World War records show the Hall was used by the Parochial Church Council, Mothers Union, Womens Institute, Girl Guides, Gardening Association, along with the Home Guard, WVS Camouflage nets and the Food Office.
